Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy the "Picnic in the Park." There will be live music, games, puppet shows and a whole lot more. Local law enforcement groups will have information stations set up throughout the park. The family fest celebrates drug free family fun, so come enjoy.
Hey Kids! Bring your Mom or Dad to Old Santee Canal for some Halloween Fun! We will make a Halloween mask and basket for you to use on Halloween. Then we will have fun making faces on our pumpkins. Class is limited to 15 children and a parent must come with you!
We will select, prepare and decorate a personal hiking stick or walking stick. Develop an appreciation of the natural world and the joy and satisfaction of crafting sticks. Each participant will make a walking stick to keep. Bring your own carving tools if you have some, if not tools will be supplied.
Time: 12 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Mini Basket Holiday Ornaments
Learn to make miniatures of popular baskets to decorate your home and hearth. You will create a miniature pineapple, stocking, snowman and a pocket basket that can actually hold small fresh florals. Some experience helpful but not necessary. Participants will need to bring a towel, scissors and a lunch.

Grab the family, and head out to the Park to check out the night sky. November is always a great month for star gazing; from the Leonid Meteor Showers to the planets. A brief presentation about the history of astronomy will begin the program then will move out to the lawn to identify constellations, planets, and other things the evening has to offer. Make a star chart to take home and use year round!
Create the perfect Lowcountry centerpiece. Apples, magnolia and bay leaves, and pineapples are traditional holiday favorites, giving color, aroma and cheer to holiday decorating. Bring an old towel, 9" plate and snack. Designed for ages 14 and older.

Take a break from the stress of the holidays to come see the Stony Landing House all dressed up for the season. There will be scents of fresh greenery and spices to get you in the spirit. Take a tour of the Stony Landing House decorated for the Christmas Season.

Learn to create a beautiful holiday wreath from natural materials found around the park. We will go on a short nature walk to gather and discuss the items to be used in this wreath.
