Come enjoy some special time with your child(ren) ages 3 - 5 as we do a wide variety of things. We will read a book, do some seasonal related arts and crafts or maybe go out on the boardwalk to catch a view of a dragonfly or a turtle.
Calling all green and black thumbs alike! Adaptive Gardens of the Lowcountry will be giving a presentation at the park on how to make the most of your backyard garden this growing season. Join the expert gardener from this non-profit program located at Thornhill Farm and make sure this summer that there is always plenty of food on your dinner table.
Come look at the project competition from the Berkeley County Kids Who Care. The mission of Kids Who Care is to the raise the environmental awareness in Berkeley County by administering an environmental project competition in the schools and working as a resource to upgrade environmental science teaching. The results will amaze you!!
It is never too early to mark your calendars for the 11th Annual Shuckin' in the Park Oyster Roast. There will be activities for the children, including a jump castle. Food tickets can be purchased inside the gate. Entertainment will be by the Custom 4+2 Band featuring beach music, oldies and popular music. Small coolers are allowed, but PLEASE no pets or golf carts and tickets are NOT redeemable for food.
This program will teach you everything you ever wanted to know about hummingbirds. From the different varieties to the safe way to attract them to you house, this program is sure to be both informative and entertaining. The program ends with the opportunity for you and to make your very own hummingbird feeder from an old soda bottle. Fun for all ages!
The renowned creations of Robert Mills - one of the Palmetto State’s most respected native sons are the focus of this special traveling exhibit. Mills is considered in many circles as this country’s first and foremost architect. His 19th century designs have not only stood the test of time, but have become among the most familiar symbols of American democracy. Robert Mills: His Plans and Buildings is a collection of 16 framed panels featuring photographs of the Mills’ buildings which were built in South Carolina.
Each panel contains text describing the photograph and points out details unique to Robert Mills’ designs. This exhibit was organized by the South Carolina State Museum, the Historic Columbia Foundation and the South Carolina Committee for the Humanities. We will feature the exhibit in April and May (National Historic Preservation Month)

Come learn about Berkeley County’s roll in the American Revolution. History Buff Oliver Buckles will tell stories to include Francis Marion, aka the Swamp Fox, and other significant rolls that Berkeley County conflicts played in the roll of winning the American Revolution.
Join our experienced Naturalist on this guided canoe trip. The swamp is in full swing in early June with birds, frogs, alligators, flowers, fish, and many other surprises. This trip leaves from the Interpretive Center and weaves its way back into the old canal.

We will be taking part of the Junior Ranger Program of our 3 local National Parks, learning about life long ago, going on scavenger hunts and more in this exciting camp that will give your child a view of the exciting history that surrounds them. If your child is between the ages of 7 and 12, then sign them up for this week of fun and adventure. You must call the park to register as registration on-line is not available for this program. Calling all children!! Do not let this Father's Day slip away without doing something special for the one you love. Bring that special someone out to the park to enjoy a day of fun in the sun fishing in Biggin Creek. Prizes will be awarded to the adult/child teams for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the total weight of your three largest fish. Drawings will be done during awards ceremony for other surprise gifts. Join the Town of Moncks Corner and the Berkeley County Family YMCA as they celebrate the 4th of July. There will be food, artist, crafters, music and entertainment, jump castle for the children and car show. The Berkeley Artist’s Guild’s annual members show will be in the Berkeley Museum from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. Fireworks will go off at dusk. Gates will open at 2 p.m.

The 4th Annual Paddlefest takes place on Sept.11th. Bring the family out for this fun-filled festival, highlighting the wonderful canoe and kayaking adventures that Berkeley County has to offer. This festival is put on by Old Santee Canal Park and the Soil Conservation District. Come enjoy the "Meet the Artist Reception" and see who won the People's Choice Award as well as other prizes for the Juried Art Show. See if you agree with the judge's decisions and enjoy the fellowship of the artists.
Join with thousands of South Carolinians as they clear the beaches, rivers, lakes, marshes and swamps of aquatic debris. The cleanup, organized by the SC Sea Grant Consortium and the SC Dept of Natural Resources takes place in conjunction with the International Coastal Cleanup coordinated by The Ocean Conservancy. Once the Sweep is over, The Ocean Conservancy tallies all the debris data. This data helps us to learn the sources of the litter so we can stop pollution before it starts.
Results of the sweep will be sent to the Center for Marine Conservation to be included with data from all fifty states and many foreign countries that will be participating in the 25th Annual International Coastal Clean-up day. We will be working out of canoes in Biggin Creek and the old canal and will clean along the banks of other areas.

The Berkeley Museum Antique Tractor and Engine Show will crank up again. Coordination for the 2 day event is provided by the Berkeley Classic Antique Tractor and Engine Club. Craft specialist in the areas of blacksmithing, basket weaving, chair caning, furniture making, grist milling and sawmill operations will demonstrate their skills and products in the Crafts of the Lowcountry exhibit at the museum. People can get a chance to have their goods auctioned off at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Learn to create a beautiful holiday wreath from natural materials found around the park. We will go on a short nature walk to gather and discuss the items to be used in this wreath.
Take a break from the stress of the holidays to come see the Stony Landing House all dressed up for the season. There will be scents of fresh greenery and spices to get you in the spirit. Take a tour of the Stony Landing House decorated for the Christmas Season.
